Our last free pizza social (happens every month on the last Saturday) was a success, as usual. Community members, including teens and adults, came together to make friends and share resources.
One community member had reached out requesting help changing name and gender. LGBTQ Merced members were able to meet them with the necessary paperwork, help them fill it out, and describe the process for getting it filed at the courthouse. They reported to us this week that they were able to get to the Merced County Courthouse and successfully file the paperwork. Now, they just wait 7 weeks for the order to be issued.
Changing your name and gender at the same time is easy. And if you are low income, the process is free!
